Her interest in medicine began early, because her father worked as a general practitioner. She appreciates the chance to get to know her patients and their families, and finds it deeply rewarding to watch children grow from infancy to adulthood. She and her husband, an oncologist, have two daughters and a dog. In her personal time, Dr. Chai enjoys attending her girls' sporting events, spending time with the whole family, reading and walking.
