The field of obstetrics and gynecology has fascinated me since medical school and continues to fascinate me to this day. When I rotated through the specialty during my training, I quickly became aware of the deep impact that an ob-gyn can have on patients. The long-lasting relationships between clinician and patient can continue through multiple situations and important stages of life. Obstetrics and gynecology also offers an excellent balance of surgery, clinical management and preventive care. This allows me to continually learn new things and sharpen the skills I need to help my patients through the different challenges that arise throughout life. \n I have particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery; high-risk and routine obstetrics; and management of gynecologic conditions. Whatever my patients encounter, I work to find the root of a concern instead of simply treating the symptoms. I think it is very important that I educate my patients on both their health and their treatment options so together we can make the best decisions about their care. Just as every patient has unique needs, priorities and lifestyle factors, care plans should be equally unique. \n When I am not working, I love spending time with my soon-to-be husband, Ben, and our two dogs. I also love enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and kayaking, as well as everything else North Carolina has to offer. I rarely turn down a chance to travel. At home, you can often find me baking, cooking or reading.
