Description
As early as high school, nurse practitioner Shar Watkins knew she was destined for a career in the medical field. Watkins worked as a labor and delivery RN, helping women through every stage of childbirth.
She later became a nurse practitioner to help patients during all stages of life, not just when they were in the hospital. Watkins believes a large part of that excellent care is educating her patients and wants to empower young girls and women to be active participants in their health care, and to protect and take care of their bodies.
Watkins understands the concerns facing busy mothers, as a mother of four herself. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family reading James Patterson books and loves spoken word poetry.
