Originally from Edmond, OK, Dr. Onwuchuruba has received the A.W. Diddle Award for Outstanding Resident Research and the AAGL Award for advancing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She has traveled to Guatemala to perform gynecologic surgery on women with advanced prolapse. She hopes to continue to use her education and skills to perform much needed procedures for women in need. She completed a research project on the transplacental passage of vancomycin from mother to neonate. Dr. Onwuchuruba went into the OBGYN field because she loves being able to work in the OR while also being able to have a long-term relationship with her patients. She loves the continuity of care and the ability to care for a wide array of patients.
