Description
The Hearth and Patio store started out as The Chimney Shop in 1978. When the business outgrew its first location, they built a new store on Monroe Road. The name was changed to The Hearth and Patio as the store began offering outdoor furniture as a summer compliment to the winter-based fireplace product. Mildred Marze, an original employee of The Chimney Shop, and her husband Don Marze purchased the business in 1985. Their success was built on having a great product at a fair price, good service for our customers, and knowledgeable employees. Today's customers are still greeted by the famed cowbell hanging inside the front door. The company has grown; other family members have joined the staff to continue the dream of excellent products.

We lived in Eastern NC and had received a set of propane gas logs (purchased from Hearth and Patio) as a gift about 4 years ago. This Fall they would not work. Our gas company could not get them to work and said the gas valve was bad. The gas company said it was about the same to buy a set of new logs instead of replacing the valve. I called Hearth and Patio about a valve. They advised me what to check and try. I did as they advised and the logs work great!
