Originally a small town girl from West Virginia, who discovered she's really a Cali girl at heart, now calling Charlotte home. Movement has always been a part of Shawna's life, growing up she was a cheerleader and then she found her passion for dance. After she stopped dancing Shawna fell in love barre and Pilates mat fusion workouts after searching for a way to stay active after a cross-country move to San Diego in 2007. Shawna spent 6 years as a client, enjoying the barre/Pilates mix each class had to offer! A 2013 move back to the East Coast prompted her to follow her dreams and open a barre franchise of her own to share her love of movement with others. It was during this time Shawna realized her love of being in the studio, teaching and educating others. With the studio ownership chapter behind her, Shawna now focuses on leading the team at Club Pilates South Providence, teaching barre classes and is teaching Pilates classes as an apprentice as she works toward her comprehensive Pilates certification through Club Pilates.
Stacey started her fitness journey as a child in gymnastics, she tried softball and basketball which was an amusing endeavor but short lived, and migrated to weight training in high school. She made her way to Pilates in the late 1990’s and fell in love with the method. She completed her Pilates mat and reformer certification in 2002 and has been teaching ever since. She added a 200hr yoga certification in 2008, then in 2009 became certified in Yin yoga and Vinyasa Flow. She certified in barre in 2013 through Exhale Spa. But Pilates was her first love and still is. The more she learns and refreshes, the better instructor she becomes.
PJ Isaac has spent 27 years in the fitness industry as a Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, Pilates Trainer, and as a Group Exercise Coordinator. She has experienced and taught several fitness modalities and enjoys the benefits of all exercises. Having taught for the past 27 years, she has overcome injuries which has allowed her to grow, learn more about the body, and become a even better instructor. She started taking Pilates about 18 years ago, and it made her feel fantastic, so she wanted everyone to have that same feeling when they were done working out. With her passion in learning about the body and the science of movement to enhance a healthy life, it brought her to Pilates. Joseph Pilates said, “Change happens through movement, and movement heals”. She has seen changes in her clients who not only gain muscle strength, core strength, and better balance, but also spine and hip mobility which is key to freedom of movement. She loves teaching because she can see the benefits of Pilates first-hand in her clients!
Kacie was a founding member at our sister studio: Club Pilates South Providence and loved Pilates so much she decided to become an instructor. You'll also see her helping members at the front desk! When she isn’t in the studio or working towards completing her Pilates instructor certification, you will likely find her and her hubby out looking for the best dishes around town or abroad. She loves long walks (on the beach would be great) with her dog, drinks iced coffee no matter the season, and is outside whenever she can be!
