  • Josh Van Kampen, Esq

    Founder

    Joshua R. Van Kampen is the founder and leader of Van Kampen Law, PC in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2018, SuperLawyers rated Josh in its “Top 100” attorney list for all of North Carolina and in its Top 25 attorney list for Charlotte. At 46, Josh is among the youngest attorneys in North Carolina to receive these recognitions. The road to the SuperLawyers Top Lists started in Chicago, Illinois where Josh worked as an associate for two nationally recognized employment law defense firms: Seyfarth Shaw and Franczek Radelet. During his six years as a defense attorney, Josh defended Fortune 500 companies as well as smaller businesses in age, race, sex, disability, sexual harassment, traditional labor, and wage and hour litigation. Josh’s defense experience also included counseling employers on litigation avoidance and sexual harassment training.

  • Brian Cordova

    Esq.

    Brian Cordova is an attorney with over a decade of civil litigation experience. He prides himself on being able to break down complex legal issues in a way that clients can easily understand while also providing them with peace of mind. With the natural understanding of when to be diplomatic and when to bring the fight, Brian is always looking out for his clients’ best interest. He enjoys representing clients with their employment issues because he knows that the desire to be treated with respect and dignity at work is something everyone can relate to. Originally from South Florida, Brian has represented clients in a variety of civil legal issues in Florida, Illinois, and North Carolina. This wide range of experiences has given him a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge that he brings with him to every negotiation and courtroom he walks into. Being fluent in Spanish has also allowed Brian to focus much of his practice representing Hispanic clients who are far too often overlooked and underrepresented. Outside of the courtroom Brian is active in his local church, enjoys spending time with his wife and young children, and is an avid fan of all things Disney.

  • Kathleen Crimi

    Paralegal

    Kathleen graduated from Chapman University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Law, Justice, and Social Control. Post-graduation she began working as a paralegal and office manager at a criminal defense firm in Orange County, California where she gained knowledge and experience with the intricacies of the criminal justice system. In January of 2020, she made the move to Charlotte and in September joined the team at Van Kampen Law as an intake specialist. Kathleen was born and raised in a small town in Missouri where she developed a passion for helping others. She often spends her time outside of work researching methods to build and maintain a strong community and actively works to implement what she’s learned in her daily life. When she’s not doing research or reading, she enjoys drinking coffee, running, and cross-stitching.

  • Anna Tipps

    Intake Specialist

    Originally from Florida, Anna received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from St. Andrew’s University in Laurinburg, North Carolina, where she was a dual sport athlete in both Division II Cross-Country and Lacrosse. After graduation, Anna proceeded to move to Wilmington, North Carolina, back to Florida and eventually settled in Charlotte in 2014. Anna’s background in hospitality, customer service, and administration has assisted her in a successful career over the last 10 years. In 2019 she made the switch to the legal field, first working in construction law and now in employment law. Outside of the office, Anna can be found battling her love-hate relationship with running, spending time volunteering for Girls on the Run, drinking wine with her book club, traveling with her husband and spending the weekends cheering on the Carolina Panthers.

  • Carmen Zamora

    Office Manager/Litigation Paralegal

    Carmen is an Arizona native raised in Utah after moving there at a young age. Living in Utah, she had the opportunity to enjoy seeing the mountains 24/7 and enjoyed the outdoors. Later, life guided her to her current career as a litigation paralegal. Carmen began work as an intake specialist at a personal injury firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she gained knowledge and experience that helped her work her way up as a Senior Litigation Paralegal. In her seven-year career, she has had the opportunity to use her Spanish-speaking skills and work with the Hispanic community to help them get the help and justice they deserve. In 2022, she decided to step back and fulfill her biggest dream of traveling the world. That year, she visited many different countries and states, including North Carolina, where she fell in love with the people and the trees. This led her to move to Charlotte in December 2022 and, in May of 2023, she joined the Van Kampen team as the Office Manager/Litigation Paralegal. Carmen enjoys reading, building Legos, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
